fix(pkg): Remove check() due to hanging integration tests

Upstream's integration tests rely on the self-signed certs in
examples/tls/, which expired in 2023. The client retries the failed
handshake with backoff indefinitely, so cargo test hangs rather than
failing, stalling the build.
